Watching TV in the early 2000s

Hey, everyone, it's me again, and I've decided my next entry will be about something I loved as a kid: TV!!

First of all, let me say my parents never really cared about what I watched. They let me watch anything. I actually even saw PORN on Cinemax once. Of course I didn't understand what was going on, but it's chilling to think about it looking back.

Now, what were the shows that I liked? Well, we were big Time Warner people. Warner Bros. played a huge part of my childhood. So naturally my favorite channel was Cartoon Network. The shows I liked on there were Courage the Cowardly Dog and the Powerpuff Girls. Dexter's Laboratory was another good show, but I really only liked Dee Dee and the Justice Friends. I adored the DC cartoons. Batman: The Animated Series was awesome, but I preferred Superman: The Animated Series. Then there was Toonami, which was amazing. My favorite Toonami shows were Dragon Ball Z, Hamtaro, Cyborg 009, Astro Boy, and Yu Yu Hakusho. And who could forget Adult Swim? Come on, we all snuck downstairs at night and tried to watch it without being caught. I liked Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and The Brak Show.

Nickelodeon was cool; I loved SpongeBob. I also enjoyed Invader Zim, Chalkzone, Rocko's Modern Life, and The Ren & Stimpy Show. My parents actually OBJECTED to me watching Invader Zim because they thought it made me hyper. That's like the only time my parents didn't allow me to watch something on TV. Of course, I snuck and watched it anyway until I could prove to my parents it didn't make me hyper. Some other Nick shows I remember liking are CatDog, Aaah Real Monsters, Butt Ugly Martians, Speed Racer X, Rugrats, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Hey Arnold.

I didn't watch as much Disney Channel as the other two kids networks, but when I did, I liked Kim Possible, Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Recess, Rollie Pollie Ollie, and other shows I don't really remember right now. See, that's because I never watched it that often.

I also used to watch Kids' WB. Some shows I remember from there are Pokémon, Generation O, Scooby-Doo, and Viewtiful Joe. I vaguely recall there being a separate Toonami block on Kids' WB. Does anyone remember this?

Aside from cartoons, I loved watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Jamie Foxx Show, and Smallville on the regular WB network, Everybody Loves Raymond on CBS, The Drew Carey Show and According to Jim on ABC, and That 70s Show on Fox. And you can't forget about the game shows. I enjoyed Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on ABC, The Price is Right on CBS, and Whose Line is It Anyway on ABC Family. Those are really the only live action shows I can remember now, but I'll edit this post when I think of more.

So, that was my life watching TV in a nutshell. I hope you're still with me. I can't wait to tell you more stories of my childhood.
